I've only read a short description but basically it's the story of these twin brothers who have a sister that fell terminally ill and they must find the penguindrum to help her or something.

It's a very good anime. Much darker than it first appears. The sister being ill takes a back seat after a few episodes.
the story is very well written with many many twists and turns (much like Code Geass) however this is more mature and dark. It definitely deserves its 18 rating.
Well worth a watch but it will have you squirming in your seat from time to time (even if the bad stuff is implied rather than shown)
